Star was born on April 23, 2001, the last of 9 puppies. From the time we knew she was our choice, our 10 yr old daughter RyLea, has been training her in obedience. She joined 4-H, and with Star as her project, spent 9 months obedience training star. They worked very hard taking obedience classes and then private lessons. She was all prepared for the 4-H obedience trial to determine who gets to go to state finals, Star went in season. In Richland County they don't allow the females to show if they are in season. So all her work was for nothing. They did let her show at the end of the trial, however, it didn't count to be able to go to state and she couldn't place in the county level show. So after that fiasco, we decided to let her go to AKC events and show Star. They are still working hard together for their CD. Star did receive her CGC. She is also training in Agility with RyLea and is doing very well. She is very high spirited and loves to do the obstacles. We are hoping she will be in competition in another year.
We have found a good mate for Star to breed her in the spring. His name is Frazier.
